Program Spotlight: Great Things Happening in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District
We’re excited to share this partner spotlight on the Core Plus Aerospace programs in the Summer-Bonney Lake School District! That district launched Core Plus Aerospace at Sumner High School in 2021 and at Bonney Lake High School this school year. In just a few years, the district has made significant strides in providing high-quality advanced manufacturing curricula coupled with opportunities for real-world work experience. In fact, more than 150 students are currently enrolled in Core Plus Aerospace and 30+ graduates have been hired at Boeing since 2021.
Celebrating Our Grads’ Careers

A parent of a grad, Superintendent Reykdal and two graduates who turned their skills to careers at Boeing share their stories about what Core Plus Aerospace means to them.
Opportunities for Students and Educators
- Students from Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified courses can take advantage of the accelerated hiring process when applying for certain manufacturing jobs at Boeing. Individuals hired through the BPET process must successfully complete Boeing manufacturing new hire training. Learn more here.
- We can’t wait to see the students compete in the SkillsUSA Washington Manufacturing Assembler State Competition at the Boeing Factory in Everett on April 20! We’ll post highlights from the event on social media. Watch the highlights from last year’s competition.
- Keep a look out for dates to join Boeing’s Workforce Development team for future teacher training sessions that cover topics like curriculum and hands-on projects.
