FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will there be any financial support for students from outside the Puget Sound region to arrange temporary housing?

A distance bonus may be available to selected students from schools or colleges more than 65 miles from their assigned site. Boeing does not make housing arrangements on behalf of students.

What does the demand for workers with the skills that Core Plus Aerospace teaches look like?

There are 268,000 jobs in Washington, with an average annual earnings of $109,726. An increasingly large portion of that workforce is becoming eligible for retirement. Washington manufacturers need talented workers and the door is open to a new generation of employees. Students who complete the Core Plus Aerospace curriculum will be ready to apply directly for entry-level advanced manufacturing jobs. Boeing alone has hired more than 1,000 Core Plus Aerospace graduates since 2015.

Are there other learning opportunities available if I can’t participate in this summer’s program?

Check out the Boeing Manufacturing student development program webpage for Washington State to learn about our other opportunities! Applications for all programs will open on January 8, 2025, and use the same online application form.

  • Students who have participated in this program in a prior year can apply to be an Alumni Assistant in 2025 – assist our instructors and build professional skills.
  • Students who will be 18 years old by June 25 who aren’t ready to apply for a full-time job can also apply for the Boeing Toolmaker Student Development Program.
