Welcome Back to School!

A new school year has begun, and more students across Washington state are starting their manufacturing journey and learning hands-on, transferable skills in Core Plus Aerospace classrooms. Here are three things to check out and mark on your calendar to launch the school year off right:

  • Bookmark coreplusaerospace.org
We continuously update our site with the latest videos, fact sheets, and career and skill building opportunities. Plus, you can easily find schools and skills centers offering the Core Plus Aerospace curriculum near you.
  • Summer Opportunity Heads Up!
The application for the 2026 summer Manufacturing Student Development Program opens soon! This six-week program hosted by Boeing gives students hands-on experience while being taught by Boeing professionals. Students build friendships, strengthen their resumes, and gain real-world manufacturing skills that employers value.
  • Fast Track Your Future
Are you a senior preparing to graduate next spring from a Core Plus Aerospace partner school? Are you taking a class that’s a Boeing pre-certified academic manufacturing program? If you answered yes, you may qualify for the Boeing Pre-Employment Training Program. BPET enables eligible students from pre-certified academic manufacturing programs to fast-track the application process for select, entry-level manufacturing jobs at Boeing.

Welcome New Partner Schools!

Our Core Plus Aerospace community of students, educators, industry partners, families, and supporters continues to grow! We’re proud and excited to welcome three new partners:

  • Fife High School in Fife Public Schools
  • Kent-Meridian High School in the Kent School District
  • Liberty High School in the Issaquah School District and the WANIC Skill Center

These partnerships mean more students will have access to an advanced manufacturing education and high-demand career pathways!

Explore this Apprenticeship Opportunity

Complementing Core Plus Aerospace, AJAC’s Youth Apprenticeship is a two-year registered apprenticeship program crafted for high school juniors and seniors. Students build career-ready skills in advanced manufacturing, get paid, and have a pathway to a career!

We’ve partnered with AJAC to create materials that make it easy to share this opportunity:

  • Print and post our poster in classrooms
  • Share our fact sheet with students and families
  • Include this link in school newsletters and communications
