Celebrating 2025
As we look ahead to a new year of opportunities in advanced manufacturing, thank you for helping students build hands-on skills! From expanding access to the curriculum to helping students explore careers through the Student Development Program, SkillsUSA, and more, the impact of Core Plus Aerospace continues to grow. Below is a look back at five highlights from 2025.
Reaching more students than ever
We welcomed Fife High School, Kent-Meridian High School, and Liberty High School as new partner schools! With more than 50 high schools and skills centers in Washington state teaching the Core Plus Aerospace curriculum, there may be an opportunity near you to learn by doing and build manufacturing and career ready skills that will set you up for success. More than 90 students participated in the 2025 Core Plus Aerospace Summer Student Development Program
Over six weeks, these students gained hands-on experience at Boeing sites in Everett, Auburn, and Renton while also building skills like teamwork, communication, networking, safety, and quality that will serve them in any path they choose. Nearly 60 students competed in this year’s SkillsUSA Washington Manufacturing Assembler State Competition
Students showcased their skills through a hands-on project, received valuable resume feedback, and participated in mock interviews. The 2026 competition will be at Boeing Everett on March 28, 2026. Relive the experience by watching this video!
Partners making an impact
From classrooms to careers, Core Plus Aerospace and our education and industry partners are making an impact. Here are highlights featuring our partners:
- Learn more about AJAC’s Youth Apprenticeship that aligns with Core Plus Aerospace.
- AMSC/WATR Center was honored as the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound’s (CAMPS) Affiliate Member of the Year.
- A Core Plus Aerospace student at Snohomish High School and a participant in the SkillsUSA competition and the Student Development Program helped lead the effort to get the new SkillsUSA Washington varsity letter that will be available to all Washington students!
