New annual report: Helping Washington’s students build a manufacturing future

We are excited to share the 2021 Core Plus Aerospace annual report. It showcases the impact of the curriculum in classrooms across the state by helping students explore and prepare for advanced manufacturing careers while still in high school.

During 2021, another challenging pandemic year, educators remained committed to teaching hands-on skills and the manufacturing industry provided real-world learning experiences for students. Most of all, students showed their resilience and dedication to learning, building their skills and preparing for a bright future. Some of what you’ll learn in the report include:

  • The growth of Core Plus Aerospace. The curriculum is reaching more than 2,000 students at 52 high schools and skill centers in Washington state.
  • How two school districts are supporting students’ manufacturing pathways.
  • How Key Technology, a global food processing machine manufacturer in Walla Walla, is helping students in its community explore careers in manufacturing.
  • How four Core Plus Aerospace graduates turned what they learned in high school into rewarding careers.

From the classroom to a career, the Core Plus Aerospace curriculum is delivering on its goal of preparing students for high-demand jobs through hands-on learning. We’re proud of all the students, educators, families and industry partners helping build a thriving manufacturing industry in Washington state, and we’re thrilled to share these stories with you!
