What do students learn in Core Plus Aerospace?
More than 50 high schools and skills centers in districts across Washington state use the two-year Core Plus Aerospace curriculum to open doors to manufacturing careers, apprenticeship programs, and college.
Year 1
Core
Students learn foundational manufacturing skills that are common across industry, such as shop safety, materials science, precision measurement, and the use of hand and power tools.
Year 2
Plus
Students learn industry-specific courses in aerospace. This can include coursework in areas such as fiber optics, advanced composites, robotics, and more.

Students enrolled in Core Plus Aerospace or other aligned, hands-on high school manufacturing programs across Washington state are invited to apply for the paid, summer Core Plus Aerospace Manufacturing Student Development Program hosted by The Boeing Company. SkillsUSA Washington Manufacturing Assembler Competition
Each spring, Core Plus Aerospace students from across the state put their skills to the best with a hands-on project, receive feedback on their resume and take part in mock interviews at Boeing’s facility in Everett.

With Core Plus Aerospace, you can take hands-on classes and explore career pathways while still in high school. Depending on your school district, you can also earn math, science, English, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and elective credits through your Core Plus Aerospace class.
